Buggy Whipped Into Collaboration

Top Image for my siteBERLIN — “The market for reading may be expanding significantly,” Brian O’Leary told the plenary session at Klopotek’s Publishers’ Forum, “but the gains are seen almost entirely outside the prevailing supply chain. Fixed on the creation, management and sale of physical and digital objects, publishers view forms of writing and reading as potential threats to their established markets.”

And Baldur Bjarnason, on his way to warning of a collapse the publishing industry may “deserve” for its sins, touched on the chance to work together, as well: “Unless traditional publishers,” he said in an agitated, driven delivery, “… learn how to work with, collaborate with, and be a part of the communities they are serving, the publishing industry will continue its decline until it becomes too small to be sustainable and collapses.”
